A new teaser trailer for Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd as the titular hero, is now available.
The trailer premiered on tonight’s premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter on ABC. It features a narration by Michael Douglas’s Henry “Hank” Pym to Rodd’s character, Scott Lang, as he appeals to him to became Ant-Man and live up to the image of a hero held by his daughter, Cassie. The trailer also shows Lang’s troubled history in prison, some action scenes, and a few of the Ant-Man’s feats, including shrinking and riding with “giant” ants.
The teaser is surprisingly dramatic, in contrast to the comedic angle that was initially linked to the film. A hint of humor is shown as Lang asks Pym if it’s “too late” to change the name.
Ant-Man stars Rodd as Scott Lang, a petty crook that gets his hands on the suit and technology of brilliant scientist Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). However, Lang ends up helping Pym and becomes his apprentice when industrialist Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) also takes possession of the Ant-Man technology, and has nefarious plans that could endanger the world. Also starring is Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank and Janet Van Dyne.
