The Samsung Galaxy S4 is twice as fast at the Galaxy S3, and just may be the fastest smartphone ever.
That’s what John Poole, of Primate Labs, found when he compared the performance of different handsets.
In a blog post, Poole says he used the Greekbench 2 program to produce of a method of measuring smartphone speed, and the results revealed Galaxy S4 is the fastest smartphone by far, scoring 3163.
The HTC One scored 2687.
Apple’s iPhone 5 was in fifth, with a score of 1596, trailing the Nexus 4 (2040) and the Galaxy S3 (1410).
Poole added it’s unclear how the Samsung Galaxy S4 will cope with the increased cooling and power requirements that come with the faster speed, but also raised the possibility of a dramatic performance improvement like Apple made in the iPhone 5.
The Galaxy S4 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor in some regions, Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa chip in others. The company says there isn’t much of a difference between the performances of the processors.
Looks like those looking to buy Galaxy S4 will have an opportunity to get the fastest phone ever.
