On Saturday night, Sept. 17, Floyd Mayweather is set to fight against Victor Ortiz in Las Vegas. The 24-year-old Ortiz is 10 years younger than Mayweather, which means that it will most likely be a pretty interesting fight.

Mayweather (41-0, 25 KOs) will fight Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs) for the WBC welterweight title. “Star Power: Mayweather vs. Ortiz” will take place live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada at 9 p.m. ET and on HBO pay-per-view.

The supporting main event will feature Saul Alvarez (37-0-1, 27 KOs), the unbeaten WBC super welterweight champion, defending against Alfonso Gomez (24-4-1, 12 KOs) at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. Erik Morales (51-7, 35 KOs) will also challenge Pablo Cesar Cano (22-0, 17 KOs) for the WBC junior welterweight championship.

According to Black Athlete, “Ortiz will be making the first defense of his title against Mayweather in what is the biggest fight of his professional career. Ortiz will have youth on his side as the 24 year-old from Ventura, CA, is nearly 10 years Floyd’s junior.”
