Hell On Wheels season 4 premiered tonight.
In the HOW season 4 premiere, Cullen is obviously torn between his responsibility (not love) to his new, pregnant, wife, and the railroad he’s dying to get back to.
And yes, you noticed that correctly – Cullen’s wife is being played by a different actress this season. The original Naomi, Siobhan Williams, was replaced by MacKenzie Porter due to scheduling conflicts.
Durant remains cunning. Gundersen remains incredibly, deliciously, evil. Eva… well, that storyline remains too sad for words. And there’s a new evil entity taking a starring role – Wyoming governor John Campbell.
Oh, and Mickey… can you believe the hints (ok, more than hints) they are dropping about him?
While a lot happened in this episode, the story overall felt a bit heavy and slow. The transition from season 3 a little rough. Hopefully it’s just a price we’re paying for a great setup for season 4, not a sign of how the season will progress pacing wise.
A Hell On Wheels marathon preceded the S4 premiere.
As of tonight, AMC has the last 3 episodes from season 3 available free, streaming on their site, for subscribers of the following cable/tv providers: AT&T U-Verse, BEK Communications, Brighthouse, Cable ONE, Charter, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, LUS Fiber, Mediacom, Optimum, Time Warner, Verizon FiOS, and WOW!
