HP TouchPad: Drastic $99 Fire Sale! Are They All Sold Out Already?

HP TouchPad tablet resellers have begun clearing their inventory with a fire sale that lowers the price of the 16GB and 32GB models to $99 and $149, only one day after the company, Hewlett-Packard, announced the discontinuation of the device.

The details regarding when and where the official sale begins has not been announced, but according to reports, some individuals have been able to find the HP TouchPad for its sale price on Hewlett-Packard’s website. The company’s website is currently out of stock of both the 16GB and 32GB models.

The HP TouchPad has been sold on the following retailer’s websites: Best Buy, Staples, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Office Depot, Costco, OfficeMax, Amazon, RadioShack, Micro Center, Fry’s Electronics, Nebraska Furniture Mart, New Egg, PC Richard & Son, J&R, hhgregg, BrandsMart USA and B&H. All of the websites that resell the HP TouchPad seem to be out of stock on the $99 and $149 sale device. The price of both HP TouchPad models that are available on these sites at this time range from an estimated $399 to $599.

It almost looks like the discounted HP TouchPads were sold out as soon as the sale began  But there’s a chance that things are just getting rolling. The 16GB HP TouchPad tablet is priced at $99.99 on BestBuy’s Canadian site, but is currently sold out. Which may possibly mean that the sale has yet to begin in America.

Due to the fact that the details of the sale have not yet been announced, there is only one thing hopefuls who wish to purchase the discounted HP TouchPad can do… check the Hewlett-Packard website every few hours until the sale begins. Once the Hewlett-Packard website lowers the price from $399.99 and $499.99 to $99 and $149, consecutively, the other previously listed retailers are likely to do the same.

We’ll have updates when the sale begins and ends (or if it never begins). We will do our best to keep everyone updated on the HP TouchPad sale!
