Northern Irish actor, model, and musician, James Dornan, has signed on to play Christian Grey in the movie adaption of E.L. James’ erotic best-seller Fifty Shades of Grey.
“Stow your twitchy palms ladies … our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1,” writer E.L. James confirmed in a tweet on Thursday.
James Dornan is best known for his role in BBC’s drama “The Fall” and as a sheriff in ABC’s “Once Upon a time.”
Production was set to start filming in November when “Sons of Anarchy” star, Charlie Hunnam, infamously dropped out from the movie due to scheduling conflicts.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pressure of playing Christian Grey became too much for the “Sons of Anarchy” star.
Although Charlie dropped out, his leading lady Dakota Johnson, is still set to play the female protagonist in the Fifty Shades trilogy- Anastasia “Ana” Steele.
The filmmakers are hoping to wrap up casting as soon as they find an actor to play Anastasia’s room mate and best friend -Kate.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is still scheduled to hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
Who do you think should play Kate?
