James Wan Will Return for The Conjuring 2

It was revealed recently that The Conjuring sequel had been delayed until 2016, and the reason for that is James Wan is set to return to the directors chair, as well as produce the upcoming sequel to the 2013 smash hit.

The Conjuring was one of the biggest hits for the Horror genre last year, receiving an almost immediate green light for the sequel and launching the terrifying spin-off Annabelle (which focuses on the creepy doll featured at the beginning of The Conjuring), currently playing in cinemas nationwide.

James Wan is currently in post-production on his next film, his first foray into big-budget action with Fast & Furious 7, opening April 3rd, 2015.

It is believed that The Conjuring 2, will continue to follow the adventures of real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Both are set to reprise their roles.

James Wan and his partnership with writer Leigh Whannell, has cemented the two filmmakers as heavy weights within the Horror genre, with films such as Saw, Dead Silence, Insidious, Insidious Chapter 2 and the upcoming Insidious Chapter 3 (this time directed by Whannell), making up their resumes.

The Conjuring 2 will be directed by James Wan, and star Patrick Wilson and Vera Famiga. Opening 2016
