Bad Words

Jason Bateman’s Bad Words opens in theaters March 28th.

Focus Features has released a new trailer for the upcoming dark comedy flick Bad Words.

The film stars actor Jason Bateman, who is probably best known for his role as Michael Bluth on Netflix’s Arrested Development.

Bateman plays Guy Trilby, a 40-year old former spelling bee contestant who never passed the eighth grade.

In reasons that remain unannounced, Guy enters a local school’s spelling bee in an attempt to make it to the national spelling bee competition.

Along the way, he meets and befriends Chaitainya, a 10-year old competitor (played by Rohan Chand), as well as a nosy television news reporter who is set to find the truth behind his spelling bee revenge (played by Kathryn Hahn).

Bad Words also stars Allison Janney, Ben Falcone, Rachael Harris and Phillip Baker Hall.

This film marks Bateman’s debut as a feature film director.

Bateman has previously directed for many popular television shows, including Family Matters, For Your Love and even Arrested Development.

Bad Words is scheduled to open in theaters March 28th.
