Jurassic Park fans currently awaiting the release of the fourth film from the series now have something else to be excited about!
Theme Park Connection is offering fans the opportunity to purchase the full size ‘Velociraptor’ prop cage that was featured in the opening scene of the 1993 Steven Spielberg film, Jurassic Park.
The auction also includes a full-sized Velociraptor prop that was displayed at the film’s premiere.
In the film, the crate was used by workers to (unsuccessfully) transport the Velociraptor to a permanent location in the park.
Of course, owning the cage will not come cheap!
The bidding amount currently totals just over $100,000 USD.
To date, more than 150 bids have been placed.
As far as the item’s condition, the description states: “The original Crate prop and the Velociraptor prop set do show significant signs of wear; Wear and deterioration due to age in both props; Velociraptor is faded and inner mouth pieces are coming apart, some pieces of the crate are missing.”
Despite their condition, the auction promises that with a little TLC and restoration, both items are sure to remain incredible pieces of film and Hollywood history.
Bidding for the auction will end February 4, 2014.
Jurassic World, the fourth installment of the Jurassic film series, is currently scheduled to open in theaters June 12, 2015.
