K-9 Kraving Dog Food Recalled

K-9 Kraving Dog Food of Baltimore, MD, has voluntarily recalled select frozen, raw dog food due to possible Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination.

The recalled product is K-9 Kraving’s Chicken Patties that were shipped between July 13 and July 17 of 2015 to Maryland retail stores only.

Consumers who have purchased the contaminated product can take the product or a proof-of-purchase (e.g. receipt, product packaging) back to the place of purchase for an exchange or full refund.

Pet owners with questions or concerns for K-9 Kraving Dog Food are invited to call its Consumer Relations team at 1-800-675-1471 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., EST, Monday through Friday.

To date, no illnesses or deaths in humans or animals have been reported in association with this recall.

Pets with Listeria – the illness caused by Listeria monocytogenes – may experience all or some of the following symptoms: diarrhea, fever, lack of coordination, lethargy, muscle soreness, stiff neck, vomiting, and weakness. Severe cases of Listeria can result in meningitis.

Not all dogs infected with Listeria will experience symptoms.

Pets with Salmonella may experience some or all of the following symptoms: abdominal cramping, diarrhea (possibly bloody), decreased appetite, fever, lethargy, and vomiting.

Pets may be infected with Salmonella, yet not show any signs of illness. Regardless if your pet shows symptoms, he is still a carrier of the illness and can pass it on to other animals and humans. Contact your veterinarian right away if you dog has consumed contaminated K-9 Kraving Dog Food Chicken Patties.
