Lady Gaga’s new single Born This Way is already breaking records on iTunes and beyond since its release last Friday.
The single became the fastest selling single on iTunes a mere five days after it was released on the site. According the statement issued, Born This Way reached number one status in 23 countries and managed to sell over one million copies through iTunes in only five days of being on the site.
The single didn’t stop there as it also made history with Billboard’s Hot 100. Gaga’s newest single was honored as the 1000th number one single on the Hot 100 since its inception 52 years ago.
Gaga touted the record breaking as an honor and admitted to being humbled by it. In typical fashion she credited the fans with where she is at this point and acknowledged what a blessing they were to her and her career.
The album of the same title is expected to be release on May 23.
