Today, June 4, is the last day for Southwest Airlines’ three-day sale with fares starting as low as $49.
The sale is good for one-way Wanna Get Away fares to select destinations, excluding Fridays and Sundays, from August 24 through December 16, 2015.
As is typical with cheap airfare sales, there are plenty of restrictions.
Popular travel holidays including Labor Day and Thanksgiving are not eligible. The blackout dates include September 3, 4, 5 and 7 as well as November 20 through December 1, 2015.
Travel to and from popular destinations such as Florida and Nevada are only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while travel to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico is only valid on weekdays: from Monday through Thursdays.
The sale includes prices ranging from $49 to $149, with Southwest supplying the following examples:
• As low as $49 one-way nonstop between Las Vegas and Los Angeles (LAX)
• As low as $49 one-way nonstop between Baltimore/Washington and Boston
• As low as $99 one-way nonstop between Dallas (Love Field) and Washington (Reagan)
• As low as $99 one-way nonstop between Atlanta and New York (LaGuardia)
• As low as $129 one-way nonstop between Austin and Newark
• As low as $149 one-way nonstop between Nashville and Seattle
The prices are good through 11:59 pm tonight– the time zone is determined by the originating city. So if your originating city were in California, the sale would expire at 11:59 PST tonight.
Southwest says the sales fares can be combined with “other Southwest Airlines combinable fares,” and “If combining with other fares, the most restrictive fare’s rules apply.”
The tickets are nonrefundable, but can be applied toward a future trip with Southwest Airlines as long as reservations are cancelled at least ten minutes prior to the flight’s scheduled departure.
Those interested in standby travel with the sale fares would be required to upgrade to Southwest’s Anytime Fare.
Changes in itinerary would also potentially increase the cost of the fare.
