It’s Christmas eve and the time for finding gifts is getting short, very short.
But there are still options available.
Gift cards are the go to item recommended by most online retailers at this late date, but there are other options as well.
Amazon offers a same day delivery in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, New York City (and parts of New Jersey), Philadelphia, Phoenix, the San Bernardino area, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
In most cases, orders for same day delivery have to be placed early Christmas Eve to be delivered that day. The individual deadlines are available here.
Amazon also has an extensive array of their own gift cards available for emailing, posting to Facebook, or printing.
Amazon gift card values range from 15¢ to $2000. The cards can be selected based on their own images or they can be customized with a shoppers own photo or even video. Amazon has gift cards to other retailers and restaurants as well, but most of these do not include an option for immediate email delivery.
Walmart is pushing emailable gift cards on their site too. Their’s range from $5 to $200. While Walmart is promoting their gift cards as a last minute gift idea though, the description of the cards includes “The recipient will receive this item via email within 48 hours (usually immediately).” They do not say what would cause it not to be delivered right away.
Apple has gift cards to the Apple Store available in the $25 to $2000 range. They do not offer emailable gift cards to iTunes
Target has emailable gift cards from $5 to $1000. In addition to their own branded gift cards, Target.com includes emailable gift cards for Regal Cinemas, Chili’s and AppleBee’s. Oddly enough, even though Apple does not offer iTunes gift card with email delivery, Target does.
Similar to iTunes, Google Play does not offer gift cards via email. Target doesn’t have any of these either.
Both Netflix and Hulu offer gift subscriptions to their services available in 1 month ($7.99), 2 month ($15.98 (Netflix only)), 3 month ($23.97), 6 month ($47.94), and 12 month ($95.88) plans.
