The first episode of season 2 of The Legend of Korra will premiere on Nickelodeon at 7pm (ET) this Friday, September 13.
We last saw Korra in the season 1 (Book One: Air) finale “End Game” over a year ago – back in June of 2012.
It’s been a long wait for season 2 (Book 2: Spirits)!
Nickelodeon does have all 12 of the first season’s full episodes, from Welcome To Republic City all the way through End Game, available free online streaming through their site.
If you recall, the season 1 story arc pretty much wrapped up at the end of the season. Amon is defeated and apparently blown to smithereens (could be some doubt there maybe?). Korra finally connects with her spirit state and is able to use it to restore her own and Beifong’s bending abilities.
Oh, and Korra tells Mako she loves him back.
Season 2 follows up on that spirit connection, exploring it more deeply. It begins 6 months after the end of “End Game”.
Without giving to much away, we are being promised that there will be new characters in season 2 – including Tenzin’s older sister Kya, a waterbender (who would be Aang and Katara’s daughter), and Korra’s twin cousins Desna and Eska.
We’ll also get to meet the original avatar, Wan, who will be played (voiced) by Steven Yeun – yeh, Glen from The Walking Dead. Great connection there, as I suspect there are quite a few of us who are fans of both series.
The first episode of season 2 is called Rebel Spirit.
