Lindsay Lohan Enters Rehab Voluntarily

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan voluntarily checked herself into rehab for substance abuse on Monday, according to E! News. The program she chose has been kept private.

The actress made the decision to re-enter rehab just three days after facing a judge for failing a court ordered drug test. Judge Fox had originally sentenced her to spend the remaining time before her probation-revocation hearing in jail without bail. After an appeal, Lohan was released on a $300,000 bond. She is required to wear an alcohol detection bracelet.

The mandated drug test was a part of her release conditions after the actress spent 13 days in jail and 23 days of court ordered rehab. Upon failing the drug test, Lohan relayed to her fans, via Twitter, that she suffered from a disease and was working hard to overcome it.

Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, has been outspoken about his desires for his daughter to seek voluntary treatment. He said she needs help and has to show the court she is serious.

The actress faces a probation revocation hearing on October 22.

Lohan’s first arrests came in 2007, when she was arrested for driving under the influence and cocaine possession.
