Lorde To Headline Preakness InfieldFest | Tickets Discounted Until May

It was recently announced that Lorde will be headlining the Preakness InfieldFest at the 139th Preakness Stakes this May.

Just last month, the seventeen-year-old New Zealander took home two Grammy awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Royals.”

Lorde is the third youngest winner in Grammy history.

Previous artists who have headlined the annual horse race event include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Maroon 5, and Bruno Mars.

Lorde’s performance will take place before the horse race at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday May 17th.

Tom Chuckas, the President of the Maryland Jockey Club, announced that Lorde will be this year’s headliner. He is quoted on the Preakness website saying:  “Lorde’s popularity is rising at a staggering rate from radio spins to social media to online plays and views. Her appeal cuts across multiple fan demographics and reflects the cutting edge talent fans have come to expect at InfieldFest. She is an extraordinarily talented artist and we look forward to welcoming her to Preakness InfieldFest.”
Tickets to see Lorde’s InfieldFest performance and to watch the horse race from the infield are currently on sale for $60 from now through the month of April. Ticket prices will increase to $70 starting May 1st.
