Lotus Builds Special Freddie Mercury Edition Evora S For Charity

In honor of what would have been the legendary front man to the rock and roll band Queen’s 65th birthday (Freddie Mercury), Lotus has created and donated a special edition Evora S and has donated it charity.

Having succumbed to AIDS almost ten years ago, fans, friends, and family have gathered at the Savoy Hotel today to celebrate Mercury’s birthday. The event is called the “Dear Friends of Freddie Flash” birthday bash. The car will be auctioned off at this event with proceeds going to Mercury Phoenix Trust, the HIV AIDS charity that was set up by Mercury’s manager and band mates after he passed.

The sports car, created by Lotus, features a red and gold color scheme, racing stripes, and an interior influenced by one of Mercury’s renowned stage costumes back in 1986. The Evora also sports Mercury’s signature on the passenger side of the dashboard.

“We were only too happy to contribute to this fantastic cause,” stated Lotus Director of Corporate Operations, Gino Rosato. “We have created something very special to raise money for Mercury Phoenix Trust and we hope the car goes to a collector who really enjoys it.”
