Consumers who have been looking into Apple’s MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops, but haven’t been able to buy one due to the high price tag, may change their minds after hearing this announcement.
Apple just announced that they have reduced prices of 13-inch versions of the Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
Apart from the decrease in price, the laptops have also received upgraded processors that are faster than previous versions.
The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro has received a faster processor too, but no price drop.
According to the official press release from Cupertino, the previous version of quad-core 2.5 GHz Core-i5 processor in the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro (256 GB) has been replaced by a 2.6 GHZ version, while the price has been dropped by $300 from $1,999 to $1,699. The 128 GB model has also seen a price reduction of $200 from $1,699 to $1,499.
The 13-inch MacBook Air that comes with 256 GB SSD now starts at $1,399, down $100 from the previous price of $1,499.
The 15-inch Retina MacBook pro has received a new quad-core 2.4 GHz Core-i7 processor, replacing the previous 2.4 GHz version. The top-most model of the 15-inch MacBook now sports a quad-core 2.7 GHz processor, which replaces the previous 2.6 GHz, and it also comes with 16 GB RAM.
Although there isn’t any price decrease for the 15-inch MacBook, the upgraded processor offers more value for money.
