In an effort to boost sales and keep up with the competition McDonald’s revealed a host of exciting new options for it’s customers today, including home delivery service and an all-day breakfast menu.
Starting today, McDonald’s customers in NYC, Queens and Brooklyn can order anything off the menu to be delivered to their home- with the exception of ice cream cones.
88 McDonald’s restaurants (in partnership with Postmates delivery services) are currently participating and many will offer home delivery service 24 hours a day.
There will be a standard service charge, in addition to a delivery fee for the distance the courier travels, although McDonald’s did not say what that fee will be; they did say that food will be delivered within the hour.

Julia Vander Ploeg, vice president of McDonald’s USA Digital said in a statement the decision to do home delivery is because: “Our customers continue to tell us that they want their favorites from McDonald’s delivered right to their doorsteps..
We’ve listened to their feedback and are excited to launch this initiative.”
In addition, the company has announced they are now testing an all-day breakfast menu in San Diego,as well as a “Create Your Taste” option that let’s customers build their own burger.
No word yet when these options will be available across the country.
McDonald’s customers have been asking for all- day breakfast options for years and with many other chains, including Dunkin’ Donuts offering breakfast around the clock it is likely that option will be available nationwide before the end of the year.
CEO Steve Easterbrook said : “”This is about being a better McDonald’s, not a different McDonald’s.” and explained in a statement that the company is streamlining operations to be more profitable and more accessible to it’s customers.
