McDonald’s has announced they’ll begin testing of a new delivery service in New York City.
The delivery service is set to begin today in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens at 88 McDonald’s restaurants, although the company doesn’t list the specific locations.
Customers can place orders through Postmates.com or through the Postmates mobile app for iOS and Android to order from the select McDonald’s locations.
Some locations will offer delivery service 24 hours a day while others will follow normal operating hours.
Delivery fees vary and include a service charge in addition to the geographic distance traveled by the courier.
McDonald’s and Postmates claim food will be delivered within an hour of order.
Food and drink options available for delivery include McDonald’s full menu, except for ice cream cones.
Mwaffak Kanjee, Vice President and General Manager of the McDonald’s New York Metro region said, “This is a city where delivery is a way of life. We are excited to launch this test so our customers can get hot, freshly prepared food right from McDonald’s kitchens, when and where they want it.”
