McDonald’s May Serve Breakfast All Day, Offer Home Delivery

McDonald’s CEO and President, Don Thompson, asked by a viewer whether the fast food giant would consider serving breakfast all day, suggested it was a possibility.

Speaking on CNBC, Thompson said “We would consider it. We have to focus on our existing menu, focus on the delivery of that and great customer experiences. But we have looked at breakfast across the day.”

Half of McDonald’s retail outlets are open for 24 hours, so breakfast items such as the Egg McMuffin, Sausage McGriddles and the Big Breakfast can be served throughout the day.

Apart from the breakfast consideration, McDonalds is also planning to introduce mobile payment systems, home delivery service, and a loyalty program for shoppers who visit regularly.

McDonald’s also revealed its testing home delivery in some US cities, but decided not to name them.

Thompson also said the “innovative ways” for extending breakfast hours will be implemented “in the near future.” He also described home delivery as “a big, bug, opportunity,” especially where the outlets don’t have a drive thru.

Would you like McDonalds to serve breakfast items all day? How about home delivery?
