New Line Cinema has released the first official trailer for the upcoming comedy Tammy, starring Melissa McCarthy!
The short teaser trailer features McCarthy dancing out her frustrations in a parking lot before robbing a burger joint in a paper bag ski mask.
In the film, McCarthy plays Tammy, a woman who is having an extremely bad day.
After wrecking her car and getting fired from her job, Tammy also discovers that her husband has been cheating on her with a neighbor.
Broke, lonely and desperate, she turns to her unpleasant, alcoholic grandmother Pearl for help.
Tammy marks the directing debut of McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone.
Both McCarthy and Falcone wrote the script for Tammy, which is scheduled to open in theaters July 2, 2014.
The comedy flick also stars Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Toni Collette, Dan Aykroyd and Kathy Bates.
