Actor Michael Goorjian will be starring in the sequel to the 1998 cult classic SLC Punk, which is scheduled to be shot this summer and hit theaters in the fall.
What makes this news odd to hear, even for fans of SLC Punk, is that (spoiler alert!) Goorjian’s character, Heroin Bob, died at the end SLC Punk. Yet, according to The Wrap, Goorjian is set to star in the sequel, which is appropriately titled SLC Punk 2: Punk’s Dead.
James Merendino will once again be writing and directing, and he has plans to shoot in Salt Lake City this summer. In addition to Goorjian, Devon Sawa, Adam Pascal and James Duval will also be reprising their roles from the first movie.
However, there is no word on whether Matthew Lillard will also be back for SLC Punk 2, although Merendino has promised a couple of cameos in the sequel, which could be a clue that Lillard will be back in some capacity.
Among those joining the cast for the sequel will be Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Clarke, Machine Gun Kelly, and Hannah Marks. After shooting this summer, SLC Punk 2: Punk’s Dead will hit theaters later this year on November 21st.
