MS Office 365 Home Premium: $9.99/month – Free Trial Available

Today Microsoft released Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium – and they are offering shoppers a free one month trial of the new service.

The new Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium is a cloud based program.

Users will still have access to familiar programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Access. But rather than the program being downloaded to a computer, it will be available over the internet.

According to Microsoft, there are several advantages to this. One is that a user can access the programs and their documents from as many as five different devices. Another is that the program will always be updated to the latest version without the user needing to do anything.

Rather than a one time payment and download, this will be a subscription based service. The cost is $9.99 per month, or $99 for an annual subscription.

There is also a University Edition available to university and college students, faculty, and staff. The cost for the University Edition is $79 for four years.

Subscriptions will include an extra 20GB of  storage on Microsoft’s cloud storage service, SkyDrive, and 60 world minutes on Skype.

Microsoft’s free one month trial offer for home users is available here. Shoppers will be required to sign up for the monthly subscription to get the free one month trial. Billing will begin at the end of the free trial month, unless the subscription is cancelled.

Business users are also offered a free trial.
