Disney’s Monsters University is now out on DVD and Blu-ray.

The computer-animated comedy was released in theaters last June and was an immediate hit, grossing more than $743 million at the box office.

Monsters University is a prequel to Monsters, Inc (2001) and features Mike and Sulley in their college years. Lending their voices to the project are  Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Bob Peterson, and John Ratzenberger.

Monsters University was released on DVD and Blu-ray just yesterday and is already the #1 best seller in Amazon’s Kids and Family section.

Amazon has the movie priced at$15.99 on DVD. Their Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is $24.99. On Blu-ray 3-D it’s $29.99. It’s also available On Amazon Instant Video for $14.99.

Oddly, Walmart does not have the DVD listed on their site. They do have the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack available at the same price as Amazon, and $24.99, and the 3-D version is $29.99.

Target has the DVD available online for $15.99. Their Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is priced at$22.99 – the best price we found online during our pricing survey. Their Blu-ray 3-D version is $29.99.

Best Buy has the DVD available for $17.99, $2 more than most other locations surveyed. They have the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack available for $22.99, and the Blu-ray 3-D version available for $29.99.

Monsters University is also available for rental through Redbox for $1.20 per day, or $.74 for first night rental with use of the coupon code they mailed out this morning (KQDGMWDV) with a Monsters University promo.

On AT&T’s U-verse on-demand cable service the movie is priced at an overnight rental of $6 ($7 for the HD version). it’s widely available through other cable on-demand services as well.

Though Netflix does have a deal with Disney for movies, it’s likely to be a while before Monsters University is available streaming from them.
