Motorola Xoom Now Available For Pre-Order

The Motorola Xoom tablet with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) for the Verizon network is now available for pre-ordering.

Wirefly, an online cell phone discounter, is offering pre-ordering through their site. The pre-order price is $799 with the purchase of a new Verizon Wireless plan. It includes a 30 day pre-order guarantee that if the price of the Motorola Xoom is lowered within 30 days of the launch date, consumers will receive a credit for the difference on their credit card. Restrictions apply.

According to Wirefly.com, the Motorola Xoom is currently set to launch on February 23, 2011.

The Motorola Xoom is the 1st tablet with Android 3.0, also known as Honeycomb. This OS is designed specifically for tablets. The Xoom features two cameras. One can be used, for example, for face to face chat, and the other can be switched to for ‘see what I see’ video action. It also supports video recording.

The Xoom has a dual core processor and a 10.1 inch High Definition touch screen.

Wirefly notes that pre-orders will be provisioned on a first come, first serve basis. They say that consumers credit cards will not be charged until the Xoom is activated and shipped. The also say that orders may be cancelled at any time prior to shipment.
