Netflix is reporting through their website that they are currently “experiencing a technical issue,” and it appears that part of their website is down, or at least not working.
At the same time, the Netflix application on a Nintendo Wii we have here is reporting that “An upgraded version of the Netflix application is now available.” Are the issues related? Unknown at this time, but we have contacted Netflix’s press office requesting more information.
Once we updated the Wii Netflix app, it appears that everything is working and all the regular movies and shows are available on our Wii.
Netflix is still streaming movies and shows through their website too, but the selection is limited. Many of the navigation tools, such as the search feature, are missing. Their home page the titles, which can be scrolled through horizontally, are available and appear to stream properly. We also found that descriptions of movies and shows don’t appear to be available. What you see is what you get.
We will provide an update when we get more details from Netflix.
Are you having trouble with Netflix today? What’s happening on your end and how are you accessing the streaming service? Leave your comments below.
At around 5:30pm eastern time, it appears that Netflix’s website has returned to normal. The search function and other navigation features have returned and are working. At least with the testing we have done so far.
If you experience any problems with the Netflix site, let us know in the comment section below and we will check it out.
