Netflix To Abandon DVD Users?

Netflix users are concerned that the company is moving towards its instant access selection and away from the DVDs that built it up and they are making it known how unhappy they are.

Monday Jamie Odell, director of product management for Netflix, made a blog post to announce a seemingly innocent task. He shared that the service would be removing the ‘Add to DVD Queue’  button from its streaming devices. The reasoning he gave is so the company could focus more on offering titles available to watch instantly on Netflix.

Even though Netflix website has not changed and users can update their queue online, they were still quite angry over the change. There was a flood of comments regarding the new change as well as the lack of selection available for instant viewing. Customers shared their belief that this is one step closer to eliminating the DVD by mail side of Netflix altogether.

Netflix has not responded to any of the comments with a statement.
