On Thursday, Netflix announced the new season for ‘Arrested Development’ will be released on May 26th.
The company said the fourth season will feature 15 new episodes, and all of them will be released together at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on the announced date.
The episodes will be available for every territory where the streaming service is aavailable.
Netflix said that Mr. Hurwitz, the creator of the series, was presenting Arrested Development in ‘a brand new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV.’
They also said ‘The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.’
However, Mr. Hurwtiz said ‘In truth we are doing something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform. Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence.’
Arrested Development stars Jason Bateman, who is joined by Michael Cera, Jessica Walter, Jeffery tambor, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, David Cross, Alia Shawkat and Portia de Rossi, as members of a family that’s… complicated.
The series won the Emmy Award for the most outstanding comedy series in the first season, but has not been a smash hit.
However, Mr. Hurwitz and the fans of the series have high hopes from the upcoming season.
