Apple is getting ready to launch new iMacs soon, according to foxnews.com,
It is reported that iMacs, with new Ivy Bridge processors, improved graphics chips, USB 3.0, and expanded SSD capacities. The look will be drastically improved with the side mounted optical drive being taken out.
The big question though is the Retina display. According to rumors the new iMac may not have the retina display. The retina display has been one of the prime features for nearly all Apple products and is counted as one of the best display screens in the market.
With the MacBook Pro(laptop) also being a product which is manufactured with the retina display, it only seems logical for the desktop computers to go down the same path.
According to a report on cnet.com “some signs do tend to point to a 27-inch model launching soon.” After examining Amazon’s iMac listing, they found that while the 21-inch model is available for purchase, the 27-inch version is “temporarily out of stock.“ Apple’s online store, however, is showing the 27-inch model as in-stock.
This further adds to the speculation of the launch of the new iMacs very soon. The iMac has taken a back seat with the hype surrounding iPhone 5 and iPad mini. The product was last updated in May, 2011 and is currently available in two variations, the 21.5- and 27-inch models.
The new iMac is rumored to be announced in October.
