20th Century Fox has released an exclusive, full-length trailer for Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, which you can watch below.

This is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2011 blockbuster Rise of The Planet of The Planet of The Apes, which starred James Franco.

In that film Franco played a scientist who bonds with a genetically enhanced chimp, Cesar (Andy Serkis), and tries to save him and his fellow apes from humans too frightened to understand them.

The 2:42 trailer for the next installment in the Apes series gives viewers a good look at the story line and it seems that a lot has changed, except for the humans trying to destroy Cesar and the rest of the apes.

The film takes place 10 years after the 1st and a handful of humans who survived the virus that genetically altered the apes seem hell-bent on destroying them.

Except for Malcom (Jason Clarke), who like his counterpart in the original film, James Franco, seems to bond with Cesar and wants to make peace between the humans and the apes.

The rest of the cast includes:Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kody Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first film by how deeply the story, and especially Cesar, resonated with me.  After viewing this trailer I expect Dawn of The Planet of The Apes to be just as poignant.

Dawn of The Planet of The Apes opens nationwide on July 11.
