Fans of Netflix’s “Daredevil,” who are eager for more from Marvel Studios, won’t have to wait too long. Netflix COO, Ted Sarandos, announced today that their programming is expected to generate a new Marvel Studios show every six months. He was quoted at the Television Critic’s Association, saying “I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you’ll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group. And then they’ll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we’ve launched the first season of each of the four characters.”
The Defenders is a super hero group that is expected to consist of at least the characters Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The miniseries of the same name is a sort of culmination that was first seen on the big screen with “The Avengers.”
“Daredevil,” it’s first season already available on Netflix’s digital streaming service, is expecting its second season some time in 2016. “Jessica Jones” is slated to be released towards the end of 2015. Shows starring characters Luke Cage and Iron Fist, have yet to enter production.
