New Release Date for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

New Release Date for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is now scheduled to open in theaters February 13, 2015.

Fans of the Fifty Shades of Grey novels will have to wait a little bit longer to see ‘Christian Grey’ on the big screen.

The release date for the Fifty Shades of Grey film has been pushed back to February 13, 2015, just in time for the 2015 Valentine’s Day weekend.

Initially, the film was scheduled to open in theaters August 1, 2014.

Film executives have indicated that the change in the release date is simply to accommodate production beginning in December, rather than this month.

In October, fans of the film speculated as to whether the film’s release would be pushed back after Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the role of ‘Christian Grey’ due to scheduling conflicts.

However, executives have confirmed that even if Hunnam remained with the film, the release date would still be pushed back to accommodate the production schedule.

Hunnam has since been replaced by Once Upon A Time actor Jamie Dornan.

Dornan will play the successful, yet troubled businessman Christian Grey.

Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele, the innocent college student and object of Grey’s desire.

Check out this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly to see Dornan and Johnson in character!
