New ‘Sherlock’ Mini-Episode Released! [Video]

The third season of ‘Sherlock’ will premiere January 1 on BBC One and January 19 on PBS.

Sherlock lives!

In just a few days, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will reprise their roles as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in the popular BBC show Sherlock.

On Christmas Eve, the BBC released a new seven-minute video clip entitled “Many Happy Returns.”

The clip is from “The Empty Hearse,” the first of three new 90-minute episodes from the third season of Sherlock.

While we do not see his actual return, we do catch a glimpse of Sherlock’s many adventures around the world during his long absence from home.

“I’m going to be with you again very soon,” Holmes says in a video message for Watson at the end of the clip.

The third season of Sherlock will premiere January 1st on BBC One.

For viewers in the United States, the highly anticipated season premiere will air on PBS’s Masterpiece Sunday, January 19th at 10 PM.

Sherlock is based on the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic.

The second season of Sherlock was highly successful, drawing in nearly 11 million viewers.

Sue Vertue, executive producer for Sherlock and Hartswood Films, noted: “We are hugely excited about this next series of Sherlock, and have worked closely with our partners, MASTERPIECE and PBS, to bring these episodes to U.S. audiences in January. We promise our fans that Season 3 is worth waiting for.”

Season 3’s other two episodes “The Sign of Three” and “His Last Vow” will air on Masterpiece at 10 PM Sunday, January 26 and Sunday, February 2 respectively.
