New Trailer For Justice League: Gods & Monsters

IGN has released  a brand new trailer and details for the next DC Animation Direct-To-DVD feature, Justice League: Gods & Monsters.

This film takes place on an alternate universe, featuring heroes different from the ones we are familiar with. For instance, Superman is the son of the villainous General Zod and is raised by migrant workers instead of the Kents. Batman is actually Dr. Kirk Langstrom, a scientist who accidentally turns himself into a vampire. Wonder Woman has an origin related to Apokolips and New Genesis instead of Greek mythology.

The main plot involves the new Justice League being framed for a series of murders of prominent scientists. Since the Justice League is already hated for their ruthless methods and terrorist threats in the name of justice, they are the obvious suspects. The rebellious heroes must dodge the government forces hunting them while investigating this mystery.

The film will be written by Alan Burnett and directed by Sam Liu. Famed animator Bruce Timm will be one of the producers. The voice cast includes Benjamin Bratt as Superman, Michael C. Hall as Batman, Tamara Taylor as Wonder Woman, Jason Isaacs as Lex Luthor, Paget Brewster as Lois Lane, and C. Thomas Howell as Dr. Will Magnus.

In addition to the movie, a three-part miniseries, Justice League: Gods & Monsters Chronicles, will be produced by Timm and released on Machinima, taking place in the same universe. The series will premiere before the movie’s release.

Gods & Monsters will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 28, 2015.

What are your thoughts on this movie? Do you think we will see more projects from this universe in addition to the movie and miniseries?
