New Year’s Eve 2013 – Live Coverage Of Times Square On TV Tonight

It’s finally here – New Year’s Eve 2013!

While some of us will be heading out to parties and fireworks tonight, many more us will be watching the festivities on TV.

For those of us celebrating New Year’s Eve from home, there’s a lot to choose from:

A perennial favorite – Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve special will appear on ABC starting at 10PM. Yes, Dick Clark is with us in memory only now, he died in 2012, but the show must go on.

The show is now called Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2014. Seacrest will be joined by his able co-hosts Jenny McCarthy at Times Square in New York City and Fergi in LA.

The show will include musical performances by Miley Cyrus (oh boy, what shall we expect?), Pitbull, Daughtry, Billy Joel, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Fall Out Boy, Robin Thicke and more.

Before the Dick Clark special, ABC will be showing New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Presents the 30 Greatest Women in Music starting at 8PM.

Over on NBC, starting at 10PM, is New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly. The NBC special will be co-hosted by Jane Lynch and include actress-comedian Natasha Leggero and actor Anthony Anderson appearing as guests. Musical performances by Mariah Carey and  Blake Shelton will be included.

Preceding the special will be NBC’s A Toast to 2013! at 8PM. NBC describes the show as a reminder of “the buzziest stories of the last year – including the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

FOX begins their New Year’s Eve Times Square coverage at 11PM with New Year’s Eve Live ’13. Musical performances will include J Cole, Krewella, Panic At The Disco and New Politics.

FOX News will also provide coverage of events at Times Square,  hosted by Bill Hemmer, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, starting at 9PM.

CNN’s coverage with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin begins at 9PM as well.

If you are trying to get away from it all – CBS will help out with reruns of NCIS, NCIS:Los Angeles, and Person of Interest from 9PM to 11PM, at which time they head into local programming. After local programming is a David Letterman rerun.

Other alternatives to New Year’s coverage is AMC’s The Walking Dead marathon. BBC American is having a Doctor Who marathon. WHO is having a Dr. Phil marathon. Spike is having a Cops marathon. And season 2 of The Mindy Project is going strong on Bravo.

What are you watching on New Year’s Eve 2013?
