This Thursday night the Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Baltimore Ravens at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Kickoff is at 8:25 P.M. (EST) and will be broadcast on both CBS and the NFL Network.
(Unlike in years past, this year the NFL Network will air 7 Thursday night games between September 11 and October 23).
Live streaming will be available from the NFL Network and through Direct TV Sunday Ticket.
Streaming through the NFL Network is free, but can only be accessed through a participating cable provider.
The Direct TV Sunday Ticket requires a subscription, which starts at $199 and is available to all Direct TV customers.
Those who do not have Direct TV, but live in NY City, Philadelphia or San Francisco are eligible to purchase the service as well.
Verizon customers who have the Verizon Wireless More Everything Plan can also watch the game through live stream for free, as they dropped the $5 service fee for this season.
In addition, fans can catch the game using NFL Game Rewind, where fans can watch full game replays or a condensed version if they want to.
NFL Game Rewind requires a subscription. There are various plans, including a $9.99 option to watch for 7 days, $29.99 to see all of your favorite team’s games only, $39.99 for the season ($10.99 a month) and $69.99 for the full season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.
Thursday night’s match-up should be an entertaining one for fans, here’s a preview of what to expect:
The Ravens(0-1) will undoubtedly be dodging Ray Rice questions and trying to distance themselves from that debacle, but the only way to really do that is for them to play some great football.
For those who don’t know, Rice was initially suspended for 2 games at the start of the season for punching his then fiancee (now his wife) in the face at in an Atlantic City elevator back in April.
However, the video of that incident was recently released, causing public outrage and resulting in the Ravens firing him.
The NFL has also suspended him indefinitely while they investigate, something many feel they should have done months ago when this was first brought to their attention.
All this controversy could explain why they looked so ineffective and out of sync against the Bengals in week 1- at least that’s what fans are hoping.
They have a decent defense and their offense, which has always been primarily about the run has made great strides thanks to QB Joe Flacco in the passing game, so if they can keep their focus they have a real shot of beating the Steelers.
The Steelers (1-0) may have won against the Browns in week 1, but they didn’t look too impressive either.
In addition to QB Ben Roethlisberger being sacked 4 times (which is kinda scary since he is quite agile and adept at moving around) Pittsburgh also managed to blow a 24 point half-time lead (which is even scarier).
Pittsburgh does not have the best defense, so if they don’y have their offense running and executing perfectly, they could find themselves on the losing end of this game.
My prediction is Pittsburgh 24 Baltimore 21.
