NYC Launching App To Pay Meters By Phone- Bye, Bye Tickets

Imagine a world where you never have to worry about finding change to feed the meter or running out to add more time to it.

Can you see it? Good, because that dream is about to become a reality in NYC by the end of the year.

Mayor DeBlasio has announced plans to launch an app that allows you to pay any parking meter by smartphone, according to the NY Daily News.

With the app  drivers will be able to sign up with their credit card and license plate number then punch in the muni meter number to pay.

Meter maids will have tablets showing which cars are paid up on which blocks and ticket accordingly.

In addition to not having to run to your car to avoid a ticket, this new app also has the added perk of refunding you for any time you pay for and don’t use.

Those who don’t have a smartphone, or don’t want to use the app can still pay at the muni-meter.

Officials say the new system won’t cost any money to implement because the app is being developed fro free and the tablets were already being purchased.

What do you think of being able to pay the meter through an app?
