OC Raw Dog, located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, has voluntarily recalled 640 pounds of raw, frozen dog food due to a possible Salmonella contamination.
This recall includes the Chicken, Fish & Produce Canine Formulation recipe of the 6.5-lb. Doggie Dozen Patties, 4-lb. Doggie Sliders, and 3-lb. Meaty Rox with the lot number 1819 and a use by date of 05/05/16.
No illnesses or deaths have been reported with OC Raw Dog’s recall.
If you purchased one of the recalled products, send a picture of the package with the lot number visible to Olivia@ocrawdog.com for verification. You can then dispose of the product or return it to retailer you purchased it from.
Consumers with questions can contact OC Raw Dog at 1-844-215-DOGS Monday through Friday between 9am and 4pm PST. If you get the company’s automated answering system, you are advised to leave a message, and a representative will call you back.
Pets who have been infected with Salmonella can experience some or all of the following symptoms: diarrhea (possibly bloody), decreased appetite, fever, lethargy, and vomiting.
Carriers of Salmonella can infect other pets and humans, so it’s imperative that owners contact their pet’s veterinarian immediately.
