The 2011 Oscar Nominations were released this morning.

Making the list were favorites for Best Picture:  The Social Network, and the King’s Speech.

Surprising many, Christopher Nolan did not make the list for Best Director. His fans have staged a protest on Twitter.

Also a surprise, Despicable Me was also left off the list for the Best Animated Feature.

In the lead for the most Oscar Nominations is The Kings Speech, with 12.
