It’s the moment we have all been waiting for folks. The Oscar Nominations have finally been revealed today.
This Year’s Oscars’ host Seth MacFarlane, was joined by Emma Stone to announce the nominees for the 85th annual Academy Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ headquarters in Beverly Hills.
Lincoln led in earning 12 nominations, including nods for Best Picture, Best Director Steven Spielberg, Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis and Best Supporting Actress Sally Fields.
A close second, Life of Pi earned 11 nominations, while Les Miserables earned nine and Argo received seven.
Surprisingly, Ben Affleck who received high Oscar buzz did not nab a nomination as Argo’s best director.
Other major snubs in the director category include Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty and Tom Hopper for Les Miserables.
The Oscar directing nominations went instead to Michael Haneke’s Amour, Benh Zeitlin’s Beast of the Southern Wild. Favorites Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, Ang Lee’s Life of Pi and David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook also all received nominations.
The Oscars are set to take place February 24.
