Oscars 2016: Time, Channel, Live Stream, Red Carpet & Nominees

The 2016 Oscars take place this Sunday night (February 28) and between the fashions, nominees and all the controversy, the show is sure to have everyone watching- and talking.

To make sure you don’t miss any of it we have all the info on how to watch, including show time, live stream options, red carpet coverage and a list of nominees.

For those who don’t know, the 88th Oscars feature nominees that are all white (the 2nd year in a row this has happened), sparking debates and calls for a boycott from stars such as Jada Pinkett and Spike Lee.

It’s also made the awards opening sequence a must-see event, as comedian Chris Rock is hosting and will definitely have something to say about the #OscarsSoWhite issue.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Time/Channel: The awards will air live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California starting at 8:30 P.M. EST/ 5:30 P.M. PST.

Free Live Stream: Free live streaming is available, with some limitations.

ABC will stream the awards for free on PC’s via their WATCH ABC site and on smartphones and tablets using the WATCH ABC app from the App Store, on Google Play, or via Amazon.

However, streaming is only available in these select cities: New York City, Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, and San Francisco.

Also, you will need to log onto the site using a participating cable provider for full access.

For those outside those cities, you can head over to the Academy’s Facebook page, which will be streaming parts of the show throughout the night.

They will have coverage of the red carpet, backstage interviews, acceptance speeches and more.

Red Carpet: Red caret coverage is available on TV and online from both E! and ABC.

ABC’s red carpet coverage, Oscars Backstage live show, will start at 7 P.M. EST/ 4 P.M. PST on TV and online via the methods listed above.

Once again, coverage is limited to the markets above and only with a cable subscription.

The E! Channel will have a full day of coverage that is as follows:

Countdown to the Red CarpetThe 88th Annual Oscars!, will start at 1:30 P.M. EST/ 10:30 A.M. PST.

This will be followed by E!’s Live From The Red Carpet: The 88th Annual Oscars!, with Guiliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest starting at 5:30 P.M. EST/ 2:30 P.M. PST.

They will also stream the AT&T Livestream show starting at 5:25 P.M. EST/ 2:25 PST. via eonline and through their app for Android and iOS.
