Congratulations to Owen Wilson who is a new dad. Wilson’s publicist has confirmed that he and his girlfriend Jade Duell have delivered a baby boy in Hawaii on Friday morning. The LA times has reported that the boy, named Ford Linton Wilson, weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
Owen Wilson has played starring roles in the recent box office hits “Little Fockers” and “How Do You Know.” Probably his most famous role was in his co-starring role in “Wedding Crashers.”
Times seem to have changed for the better for Wilson. In the summer of 2007, he was rushed to St. John’s Health Center. At the time, there was much talk of a suicide attempt. After being transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles his representative confirmed that he was at that hospital to be treated for depression. Shortly after this episode, Wilson withdrew himself from the starring in Tropic Thunder, produced by and starring his friend and frequent collaborator Ben Stiller. Since the putative suicide attempt, Wilson has kept a relatively low profile. That is, until now.
With the news of a new baby, Wilson and girlfriend Duell are sure to be feeling more of the spotlight. Hopefully the media will respect their privacy and the new family’s wishes.
