The wait is over for Windows Phone 8 users – Pandora is available for your phone as of today. As a reward for your patience, Microsoft is footing the bill for ad-free listening through December 31st, 2013.
Ad-free listening is usually only available for Pandora listeners that subscribe to the Pandora One service, which costs $3.99 per month.
Pandora for the Windows Phone 8 reveals a brand new look for the app. The company has been working on this app for about 6 months to tailor it to the unique interface of the Windows Phone 8.
“With its visually flat elements and unique panorama concept of navigation, designing for Windows Phone 8 while keeping our consistent Pandora aesthetic was an exciting challenge and we’re thrilled with the results,” stated Asi Behar on Pandora’s official blog.
A Live Tile for the Pandora app allows users to see what they’re listening to at a glance. This also allows Windows Phone 8 users to access the app with just one tap of a finger.
In addition, you can pin your favorite Pandora stations directly to your Start screen.
Pandora for Windows Phone 8 is also designed to work with the Kid’s Corner feature that is available on the phone. Whenever the app is launched from Kid’s Corner, all explicit content is filtered out.
It is worth noting that only content that is specifically labeled as explicit will be filtered out.
