Panetta: Osama bin Laden Death Picture Will Be Released

Today on Sept. 11, the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, many people seem to be searching Google for pictures of the dead Al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden. A few images have been going around claiming to be the real deal, but it seems that no photos of him deceased have been officially released.

Many people have asked for proof of Osama bin Laden’s death, but the White House has supposedly refused to release any official death photo.

All photos currently claiming to be official photos of Osama bin Laden dead are in fact photoshopped images.

According to report from CNN in May of this year, the real death photo may be released one day. The report reads: “CIA Director Leon Panetta said Tuesday he thinks a photograph of Osama bin Laden’s body will be released at some point, but that it is up to the White House to make the final call.”

The genuine photos of Bin Laden reportedly show a gunshot wound to the side of his head, but he in the photo is also highly unrecognizable.

CNN has also reported that other photos including the raid on the compound and bin Laden’s burial at sea exist.
