People’s Pink Party At Black-Eyed Susan Day At Pimlico

Today is Black-Eyed Susan Day at Pimlico Race Course. It’s one of the highlights that precede the great Preakness, the second race of the Triple Crown. In collaboration with Susan G Komen for the Cure, Pimlico is sponsoring the second annual People’s Pink Party.

The People’s Pink Party invites people to enjoy the Lady Legends for the Cure II, the $30,000 all female Jockey Challenge, and the $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes as well as other special events. In honor of cancer survivors, and to help further the awareness of breast cancer, Pimlico will donate 10% of its Turfside Terrace ticket sales to the Komen group.

Running in the Black-Eyed Susan are fillies from across the nation. Royal Delta is a strong filly who won by 12 lengths last fall at Belmont. Wyomia is a Grade 3 winner who finished in second place at the Suncoast Stakes behind Lilacs and Lace. Hot Summer will make her first go at 2 turns today. Coax Liberty will stretch to make the nine-furlong race. Buster’s Ready has the potential to be an up and coming winner. She’s giving 2 turns a try today for the first time in awhile. Love The Way You Are is a proven dirt track winner who is stepping up her class and distance.

Post time for the Black-Eyed Susan is 4:46 pm EDT.

The Black-Eyed Susan, along with the People’s Pink Party, are the highlights of today’s events at Pimlico. Turfside tickets are still available for today only at preakness.com/tickets. All turfside tickets for the Preakness itself have been sold out. Turfside tickets are $100 each. General admission tickets are just $25 each.
