Activation and Infinity Ward have announced that Call Of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer will be free starting Friday March 7th at 6:00 p.m. (GMT) on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
This weekend long event is set to end on Monday the 10th.
For those that decide to join in on the fun, you’ll be able to play the Strikezone, Warhawk, and Prison Break maps in Search & Rescue, Domination and Team Deathmatch modes. As an added bonus, the Point Of Contact Extinction gameplay type will be playable as well.
Starting on Friday, all interested gamers have to do is log in to Xbox Live, download the multiplayer demo, and start battling against their buddies.
This is the very first time in franchise history that Activision and Infinity Ward have created a complimentary multiplayer weekend with help from Xbox.
Like all previous entries in this shooter juggernaut franchise, Call Of Duty: Ghosts has benefited from high sales and a decent critical response.
Ghosts shipped units worth $1 billion to retail when it launched in November of last year, but this event hopes to bring even more new players into the fold.
Will you be playing Call Of Duty for free this weekend, or have you moved on to something else?
