Pokémon Black & White 2 Trailer Released; US Pre-Orders Ship Oct 7

The Pokémon Company International, which is owned by Nintendo, released an English language preview trailer of the upcoming games Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 earlier this week.

The release of the trailer was timed to coincide with the 2012 Pokémon World Championships, which are going on in Hawaii this weekend.

The new games will launch in time for the holiday shopping season (my 9 year old already has them on her Christmas list). The US launch date is October 7th. In Europe, the games will launch October 12th.

The two separate games are retail priced at $34.99 each. They are already available for preordering at Amazon.com, Target.com, Walmart.com and Gamestop.com, but surprisingly not at BestBuy.

Walmart was the only major retailer we found that had them at a discount, $31.13 each.

Along with the launch of the v2 games, Nintendo will also be releasing another (so far unpriced) game called Pokémon Dream Radar.  This game will be available exclusively through the Nintendo eShop, according to Pokemon.com, and only works on the Nintendo 3DS.

Pokémon Dream Radar is described as a “motion-controlled shooting game” in which players will be able to take advantage of the 3D camera and gyro sensor to ‘catch’ Pokémon that appear as if they are in the real world. The Pokémon can be saved to the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games.

Demand for the V2 games is expected to be high. Almost 15 million versions of the original Black and White games have been sold.

Are you looking forward to the new games. Have you pre-ordered one or both? What are your thoughts about Pokémon Dream Radar? Leave your comments below!
