Adult film star Derrick Burts admits that he tested positive for HIV in October and is calling for mandatory condom use in all porn films.
Burts is better known as Cameron Reid in the straight films he has starred in and Derek Chambers in his gay films.
The 24 year old porn star says he wishes he had been more educated about sexually transmitted diseases when he was working in the industry. He has issued a public call for the industry to initiate mandatory condom use among its stars.
Burts said he chose to speak out to help others. He feels that the $10,000 or $15,000 a star makes on a film is not worth their life in the end. “Performers need to be educated,” he said.
