A number of retailers are pushing electronics in their Presidents Day sales this year.
Walmart is offering the Xbox 360 Ultimate Bundle for $239. The bundle includes the console (4GB), two controllers and and a choice of one game.
Many sites are mentioning Walmart’s special on a LG – 55″ Class, 3D, HDTV as a great Presidents Day deal. Walmart has it on sale for $948. But with a bit of research, we found the same HDTV over at Best Buy for $749.
Following up with Best Buy, they have an Insignia 55″ Class HDTV featured in their Presidents Day sale for $579.99. An Asus 15.6″ Laptop with a 500GB hard drive and 4GB memory is on sale for $349.99.
TigerDirect is featuring the Toshiba Satellite U845W-S400 Ultrabook in their Presidents Day sale. The price is listed at $549.99. The closest priced competitor we found for this item is Amazon, who has it listed at $589.99.
TigerDirect also has a number of HP notebooks included in their sale, and an impressive looking deal on a 32 inch HDTV for $179.99 (after rebate).
Radio Shack has a number of electronic items on sale in their Presidents Day sale. Though we did confirm that the prices listed in their sale were lower than their regular prices, we didn’t find any items that couldn’t be found at the same price or less at other retailers on a regular basis.
Neither Amazon nor Target, two of our regular go-to stores, have any President Day sales promos featured on their sites. Not entirely surprising for Amazon, as they often do not have promos on the smaller sales holidays. But it is surprising that Target does not mention a Presidents Day sale on their home page.
